Here is the famous actor, social activist, and educator Dr. Bill Cosby. Dr. Cosby earned his Ph.D. in Education from the University of Massachusetts in 1976.

Dr. Cosby first became famous on the 1960s TV program I Spy. He played the American spy Alexander Scott, who posed as a tennis coach. Dr. Cosby was the first black actor to co-star in a dramatic series on TV.

CNS News (7-2-04) reported on Dr. Cosby's speech in Chicago at the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition:

Bill Cosby pleaded with blacks to stop blaming the "white man" for their problems on Thursday, and he reiterated his harsh critique of the current state of African-American culture.

"It is almost analgesic to talk about what the white man is doing against us, and it keeps a person frozen in their seat. It keeps you frozen in your hole that you are sitting in to point up and say, 'That's the reason why I am here.' We need to stop this," Cosby said in an address before Jesse Jackson's 33rd Annual Rainbow/PUSH Coalition conference in Chicago.

The 66-year-old Cosby struck an introspective tone. "There is a time, ladies and gentlemen, when we have to turn the mirror around," he told the crowd of 500 people at the Sheraton hotel.

...Cosby urged blacks to take personal responsibility for their lives, and he hinted that social welfare programs may be having unintended consequences for African-Americans.

I think when blacks blame whites for all their problems it hurts their children. If children expect to fail and always hear that someone else is to blame for all their problems, then they may not work hard in school and may believe that there is no point in being responsible for themselves.

For example, I read in the Washington Post (1-25-05) that 80% of new AIDS cases are young black kids. This is due to IV drug use and unprotected sex.

Even though the head of the Russian Intelligence admitted in 1992 that the KGB spread the lie that the US government created AIDS to kill blacks, some black leaders such as Senator Obama's former minister REV. Wright promote this lie, and it may make young black kids irresponsible with their health:

[Conspiracy theories are] a huge barrier to HIV prevention in black communities...There's an issue around conspiracy theory and urban myths. Thus we have an epidemic raging out of control, and African Americans are being disproportionately impacted in every single sense...[Black] adolescents ages 18 to 24 accounted for nearly 80 percent of new HIV cases. The whole notion of conspiracy theories and misinformation...removes personal responsibility...If there is this boogeyman, people say, 'Why should I use condoms? Why should I use clean needles?' And if I'm an organization, 'Why should I bother with educating my folks?' The [Tuskegee] syphilis study was real, but it happened 40 years ago, and holding on to it is killing us.---Phill Wilson, executive director of the Black AIDS Institute in Los Angeles

I know from personal experience about this stupid, vicious KGB lie. I had a childhood friend named Brent Anderson who became critically ill in China with AIDS in 1987.

Brent had studied Chinese in college, and I think he wanted to visit China before he became too sick. When he became ill in China, his father had to pay 40,000 dollars for the US Air Force to go to China and bring him home because no airline would take him.

Brent died shortly after he returned home. The Soviet media claimed that he had been sent to China as a biological weapon against the USSR! His "mission" was supposedly to infect billions of Chinese because China has a long border with the USSR. I read this article myself in the Soviet media more than 20 years ago.

Isn't that a stupid contemptible lie? Does anyone really believe that the US government tried to spread AIDS to the USSR by sending a dying person to China?

This stupid KGB lie shows a lot of contempt for its audience.

Because of my childhood friend, I know about people like Ward Churchill, who spread the lie that the US Army deliberately gave the Mandan Indians smallpox. That's how I know about people like Rev. Wright, who spread the lie that the US government invented AIDS to kill blacks.

More recently, the leader of Russia's Communist Party Gennadi Zyuganov spread the lie that the US invented bird flu.

These stupid anti-American canards are intended to spread hatred of America and spread discord within our society, but the real victims are blacks, American Indians, and people in foreign countries who can benefit from medical assistance if they trust America.

These are stupid KGB lies that were originally anti-Semitic canards. They have their origin in medieval times when Jews were blamed for poisoning the Christians' wells with plague. The Communists and the NAZIS gave them new life in the 20th Century.
