If you go to Ward Churchill's famous 9-11 essay, "Some People Push Back: On the Justice of Roosting Chickens," Wardo divines that in 1996 Madeleine Albright "responded" to the 1998 remarks of a UN official named Denis Halliday!.....Odd.....How did Albright ever manage to respond to Halliday two years before he made his remarks? He didn't even have that job in 1996.

It seems that Natsu Saito, the wife of the University of Colorado's Tenured Plagiarist of Ethnic Studies Ward Churchill, used to be named Natsu Jenga. She evidently used to be married to an Atlanta activist named Chimurenga Jenga. Natsu Saito may have also been named Nancy Elaine Taylor. I am not positive about that. Sometimes Saito, who has a law degree from Yale, may even post on-line as "Truthforce."

Here are Natsu and Chimurenga Jenga in 1989 signing a legal document, evidently as a married couple. They also seem to have a daughter named Akilah Jenga.

It turns out that Chimurenga Jenga was a vigilante during the years of the Atlanta child murders. He carried a gun or a bat and patrolled the streets during the infamous period of the child-murders. [See page 2 for Jenga] The vigilantes were known by the sobriquet "the bat patrol."

According to a report by Dan Rather on the CBS Evening News (3-20-81), Chimurenga Jenga said that the Atlanta "police function as oppressors of the downtrodden."

According to this communist site, the real killer of the children was the KKK, and the government knew it and protected the killers:

Why did the government allow the klan to commit these hideous murderers, month after month? The klan has traditionally been organized through the police and sheriffs departments. It has, therefore, always been an appendage of the capitalist state apparatus. It is an extra-legal arm of state repression which works together with the legal arms of state repression (the police, the military, the courts, etc.), to terrorize the people. The klan and other fascist para-military groups are used to carry out acts of terror which the government wants to see done but cannot carry out openly. They are the U.S. equivalent of the "death squads" that operate in El Salvador, Guatemala and other countries.

The klan is financed by wealthy capitalists and is armed by the police and military....

The U.S. government apparatus at all levels (local, state and federal) was involved in the operation to cover-up the klan's responsibility for the murders. It is important to note that liberal politicians, who profess to be against racism and fascism, colluded completely with this cover-up. In fact, it was the liberal Black political officials in Atlanta who played the key role in protecting the klan. The investigation into the murders was presided over by a Black mayor, Maynard Jackson, and a Black police commissioner, Lee Patrick Brown. These two traitors to their people covered up the klan's responsibility, protected the klansmen from prosecution and suppressed the people's efforts to defend themselves. Because they refused to arrest the klan killers, the blood of the murdered children is on their hands, too. (Full text).

I think it is ridiculous to claim that Atlanta's black mayor and black police force would protect the killer/s of black children, but the communist propagandists took advantage of these murders to make a lot of anti-government propaganda.

Unlike this communist site, an FBI criminal FBI profiler named John E. Douglas believes that Wayne Williams, the man convicted of two of the killings, did not kill all of the children. According to Wikipedia:

Douglas believes that law enforcement has some idea of who the other killers are, cryptically adding "it isn't a single offender and the truth isn't pleasant."

Benjamin Whitmer, an instructor at the University of Colorado, Boulder, has a blog called Try-Works where he defends the tenured Plagiarist of Ethnic Studies, Ward Churchill.

Try-Works frequently ridicules the research I have done to uncover the troubling and complicated evidence that I think links Ward Churchill's vicious advocacy of revolutionary violence to the December 26, 1996 torture-murder of Boulder kindergartener JonBenet Ramsey.

On 3-11-07, a poster called "Charley Arthur" misrepresented my "crazy" research. It is even possible that behind the pen name "Charley Arthur" lurks the disgraced Professor Ward Churchill, who was investigated for academic misconduct, which includes misrepresenting other people's work.

In 1996, Professor of Law John Lavelle, a member of the Santee Sioux Nation, wrote that Churchill misrepresented the writings of expert scholars:

There is no escaping the conclusion that in [Ward Churchill's book] Indians Are US? Ward Churchill misrepresents the writings of both Russell Thornton and Patricia Nelson Limerick in order to create a false appearance that these acclaimed scholars corroborate and partake of Churchill's hostility toward Indian tribes...the anti-tribal posturing that Churchill cunningly assigns to Thornton and Limerick is decisively negated by both authors in those very same passages...Churchill cites! [American Indian Quarterly, Winter 1996, page 112].

"Charley Arthur" predicted that I might soon claim in an interview that "Churchill really DID off [murder] Jon Benet as a cover for his orchestration of the Oklahoma oil field murders back in the mid-20s..."

I have never claimed that Ward Churchill, who was not born in the 1920s, orchestrated the Oklahoma oil field murders of the Osage Indians. Here is what I wrote about the Osage murders.

The Try-Works blogger “Charley Arthur” has misrepresented my research exactly as Ward Churchill has misrepresented the research of the scholars he "cites" in his books.

"Charley Arthur" implies that I wrote that Churchill was involved in the 1920s Osage murders. I never said anything like that at all.

I have written that Churchill appropriated the story of the Osage Indian murders and reworked it into his ridiculous historical fabrication about how FBI-backed death squads supposedly killed 342 Indians at Pine Ridge Indian reservation. I noted that this historical fabrication was published in a Soviet/Cuban propaganda mouthpiece called the Covert Action Information Bulletin (C.A.I.B.).

One of the criminals who murdered the Osage for their oil-head rights was named John Ramsey, coincidentally also the name of JonBenet Ramsey's father. This "coincidence" is one piece of a very complicated puzzle.

“Charley Arthur” says my ideas are "crazy," but then he misrepresents totally what I am trying to explain in order to discredit me.

How come, if my ideas are really “crazy,” “Charley Arthur” doesn't discredit me by simply reporting truthfully what I have written? Why does he resort to legerdemain and misrepresent my “crazy” ideas instead of cite them?

“Charley Arthur” [video] is undoubtedly scrambling to
mislead readers about what I may have uncovered. His desperate mendacity suggests that Snapple's “crazy” suspicions may not be so crazy after all.

"Charley Arthur" Denigrates the Testimony of Rhonda Kelly, an Indian Woman

The tenured Plagiarist of Ethnic Studies Ward Churchill tries to fool people into thinking that he is some kind of human rights advocate: an Indian academic who champions the Indian viewpoint that has been suppressed in American society. Churchill's late wife (the third of Churchill's four wives), Leah Kelly, was even a Canadian Indian.

In my opinion, Churchill actually suppresses Indian viewpoints. To me, Churchill seems to be like one of those sticky-fingered, white Oklahomans who were appointed to be guardians so that they could "protect" wealthy Indians deemed incompetent to manage their oil money.

Churchill seems to think that he is the self-appointed guardian or spokesman for the "incompetent" Kelly family. After Leah was hit and killed by a car, Churchill wrote this creepy preface to her book, In My Own Voice.

Leah's sister Rhonda says that Churchill misrepresented her family's history in the preface he wrote and abused Leah, so Churchill's defenders have depicted Rhonda as crazy.

One Churchill defender, a foul-mouthed blogger who posts at Tryworks.org under the pseudonym "Charley Arthur," claims that Churchill's in-laws are mentally-incompetent, third-generation alcoholics who are unreliable witnesses against Churchill because they or their ancestors were abused at Indian residential schools.

Some people think that "Charley Arthur" may really be Ward Churchill. Certainly Churchill does not object when "Charley Arthur" denigrates Churchill's relatives.

How is it that Churchill deems Leah a reliable source for this book if she suffered from the same so-called "residential school syndrome" that Churchill claims plagued the Kelly family?

Churchill depicts Leah and her family as victims of "the white man" in his preface, but Leah's family says that the white man who hurt their family and its youngest member was Churchill.

"Charley Arthur"/Churchill tries to suppress what this Indian family says by depicting them as a bunch of drunken Indians. "Charley Arthur"/Churchill is using a racist stereotype about Indians to obscure the probable cause of Leah's drinking in the final years of her life---spousal abuse. It is "Charley Arthur"/Churchill who seems to be in denial about that; not the Kellys.

Rhonda Kelly, the sister of Ward Churchill's late wife Leah, reportedly told videographer Grant Crowell that Churchill abused her late sister and even tried to push Leah out of a moving car; so "Charley Arthur" tries to discredit Rhonda by saying that unnamed witnesses have testified that all of the Kellys were notorious drunks for generations.

"Charley Arthur" never mentions that Rhonda has been a student in law school; he tries to make her sound like she is just some drunken, crazy, messed-up woman, but he only succeeds in making himself sound like a vicious drunk in denial about his own guilt.

"Charley Arthur" also makes sickening physical threats against videographer Crowell and distorts beyond recognition the research I have documented on this blog about the troubling and complicated evidence that I think links Ward Churchill's vicious advocacy of revolutionary violence to the December 26, 1996 torture-murder of kindergartener JonBenet Ramsey.

Compare what "Charley Arthur" claims I have written about the Osage Indian murders (below) to what I have actually written. It is very easy to see that "Charley Arthur" mischaracterizes what I have written, just as Ward Churchill mischaracterizes the scholars he "cites" in his books and articles. "Charley Arthur" posted this very revealing 3-11-07 comment to videographer and Churchill critic Grant Crowell:

...Ronda Kelly...as we’ve now confirmed through a half-dozen sources in a position to know [no citation or names provided], was afflicted with such severe trauma as a child that she’s been undergoing one or another therapy—that offered by Adult Children of Alcoholics being but one—since her teens...

...Ronda Kelly...is herself documentably afflicted with acute alcoholism...

You ARE aware—are you not?—that the Kelly family as a whole acquired such notoriety for publicly belligerent drunkness over the past three generations that those engaging in such behavior in the Kenora/St. Francis area of NW Ontario are still frequently referred to as “acting like Kellys.”

And you DO know—don’t you?—that “a virulent and intractable pathology of denial” is a keystone of the so-called Residential School Syndrome, as Churchill characterizes the variety of psychological carnage suffered by the Kellys (Ronda quite specifically included).

You wouldn’t happen to be borrowing a few chops from ace journalist Charlie Brennan at the RMN, would you Grant? Really: Ol’ Chuckles “forgot” to mention exactly the same things when he “reported” on the Kellys’

Tell us it ain’t so, Walking Eagle.

And tell us that your next “expose” ain’t gonna be a verbatim excerpt from an exclusive interview with Snapple, explaining how Churchill really DID off Jon Benet as a cover for his orchestration of the Oklahoma oil field murders back in the mid-20s [See what I actually wrote here], or the transcript of a session with an institutionalized schizo-paranoid who’s “proven” that the tall guy on the grassy knoll credited with the Kennedy head-shot was actually Churchill.

Your propensity to lie is no less pathologically compulsive than Ronda Kelly’s to deny, isn’t it?

Maoist MIM Unmasks Ward Churchill's Vigilante-Cooties!

I've received...unqualified support from hard-line Maoists....[T]he Maoist International Movement (MIM) have used their weekly papers to advance some of the best analysis of my case and its implications yet published--Ward Churchill

The Maoist MIM, which defends the disgraced Plagiarist of Ethic Studies, Ward Churchill, now warns in a March 17, 2007 post that witch-hunting vigilantes [video] are exposing Wardo.

Previously, MIM reported breathlessly that Federal agents were on Wardo's tail. For a revolutionary like Ward Churchill, I suppose that having the Feds on one's tail has a certain radical chic [video features sunglasses and a rubber chicken] that being pursued by grubby, unofficial, no-name, "vigilante" activists lacks.

So, wouldn't it be just awful (for Wardo) if the people who are exposing Wardo running amock [video] turned out not to be kewl "Men in Black," but decidedly un-kkkewl polyester proletarians! [video]

MIM cautions that these Dennis the Menace vigilantes fail to appreciate that they should back-off because they are tripping up the FBI [video].

MIM can always come up with some glib rationalization for why Ward Churchill should be the only one who is entitled to free speech. Anyone who pipes up is characterized by epithets like "CIA Asswipe," "unthinking citizen," or "vigilante."

Although Wardo is a government employee who gets his paycheck from the State of Colorado, MIM explains why only Wardo, and not "whitey-fascist-vigilante," is qualified investigate government employees:

[S]elf-styled FBI vigilantes...only degrade the accountability of capitalist government...This sort of spy will be unaware of existing federal infiltration efforts thanks to a lack of formal integration into fed networks. [Full text]

While we were sleeping, the Party line has flip-flopped, and MIM--- who formerly defended Churchill from "CIA Asswipe" ---now defends Churchill from "whitey-fascist-vigilante."

"Whitey-fascist-vigilante" fails to appreciate the Maoist perspective on the thuggish, violent, dishonest, "scholar" Ward Churchill. Only MIM is smart enough to appreciate Wardo.

The star-struck (or possibly narcissistic) MIM gushes:

Recently, we have a problem where an investigator of undercover federal abuses named Ward Churchill is under attack. Ward Churchill co-authored a book titled Agents of Repression on the details of FBI abuses. This sort of work is most challenging and there is no government agency or university that specializes in training the citizens how to do the kind of work Ward Churchill does. The people who do Ward Churchill's work do not receive mass recognition, because their work is too creative, not possible with cookie-cutters....

Unthinking citizens do not realize how difficult it is what Churchill puts together, how path-breaking...

Readers might think that MIM's remarkable rationalizations are some kind of satire to make fun of Wardo, but that would be wrong, because the Great White Wardo has actually thanked the MIM for its "unqualified support" and for "some of the best analysis of my case and its implications yet published." [Dissident Voice October 5, 2005]

Ward Churchill told Dissident Voice:

I've received...unqualified support from hard-line Maoists....[T]he Maoist International Movement (MIM) have used their weekly papers to advance some of the best analysis of my case and its implications yet published. MIM has been especially consistent in putting its cadres on the street to do political education concerning my case, gathering signatures on petitions supporting me, and the like. This has led to some interesting results, to say the least.

One of the high points of my spring was when, unbeknownst to me at the time, a bunch of MIMsters cornered Rocky Mountain News reporter Charlie Brennan on the sidewalk outside the Women's Building in San Francisco -- he was there because I was speaking inside -- and told him he wasn't taking another step until he signed their petition supporting me. Man, I'd love to have seen the look on his face! They eventually cut him loose without signing, but let's just say he's stopped stalking me around the country -- he'd earlier shown up at a talk I gave at the University of Wisconsin's Whitewater campus, and a few other unlikely locations -- and I think the MIM people can take credit for his absence.

Sooooo...Thanks, comrades."

According to PirateBallerina (a site that monitors the tenured Plagiarist of Ethnic Studies Ward Churchill), C. U. Instructor and Ward Churchill apologist Benjamin "Wood Rasp" Whitmer may not be teaching this summer.

Mr. Paine wonders (3-16-07):

Could it be that Benjamin Whitmer, understudy to Ward Churchill and proud publisher of try-works, is not teaching any classes at CU this summer (pdf, page 10)? If this is true...then it looks like Whitmer will have mucho time to split between try-works and updating his c.v. Say, here's a great time-saver, "Professor" Whitmer: Use try-works as your c.v. What college hiring committee could fail to be impressed (impressed!) with the quality of writing, vocabulary, and just damn good critical thinking try-works showcases?

Benjamin Whitmer, who used his blog to champion Ward Churchill's right to free speech and who minimized the University of Colorado's documentation of Churchill's research misconduct, threatened Colorado writers with lethal tortures: disembowelment or rape with a wood rasp.

I don't think a man with such violent, thuggish, sexual fantasies should be trusted around young college students.

Whitmer wrote this about Vincent Carroll, the editor of the Rocky Mountain News:

"Fuck Vince Carroll...Fuck him with every ghastly medieval torture device known to humankind.... Had we our way, we'd stake his lower intestine to the ground and make the motherfucker take a half-mile walk." [Westword 1-18-07]

Whitmer wrote on his blog that that Patricia Calhoun, the editor of a Colorado magazine called Westword, should be "fucked with a wood rasp." I wrote about this here.

Benjamin Whitmer also helped Ward Churchill discredit his late wife's sister, Rhonda Kelly, as a loony. Rhonda Kelly has reportedly said that Ward Churchill abused her late sister Leah and even tried to push her out of a moving car.

Churchill himself admits that he assaulted his wife, Leah: "I broke and slammed [my wife] back against our bedroom wall, telling her that if she kept it up, she’d be apt to land in a hospital."

Churchill claims Leah was mentally ill and alcoholic because of her family background. Really, I think this young woman became ill because Ward Churchill was an abusive husband.

Attack on Thai Muslim School Kills at Least Three Teenagers

Separatist, Islamic terrorists in Southern Thailand have been attacking religious as well as secular schools in Southern Thailand since 2004.

In Thailand, even religious schools are subsidized by the central government, but that may be about to change, because the Thai military claims that some of the Islamic schools are complicit in the violence.

FOX NEWS (3-18-07) reports:

Lt. Gen. Wirot Buacharun, the army commander in charge of the restive provinces, said security forces had recently raided an Islamic school and confiscated an M-16 assault rifle, bullets, a computer containing suspicious material and other documents believed to be linked to the insurgency.

"This leads us to believe that religious schools are involved with the ongoing violence," he said Sunday, adding that he would urge the government to revoke subsidies for the schools or close some of them.

The Islamist terrorists want Muslim parents to remove their children from the government's secular schools, and the terrorism against these secular schools sends the message that only Islamic schools, which until now have been spared violence, are safe.

The BBC News (3-18-07) now reports:

At least three teenage students have been killed in an attack on an Islamic school in southern Thailand, police have said.

They said explosives had been thrown into the school in Songkhla province before the assailants opened fire on the sleeping quarters.

Seven other students were wounded in the attack late on Saturday [3-17-07], which the police blamed on Muslim separatists.

But villagers disputed the police account and later staged a protest.

Hundreds of villagers blocked the road to the school, accusing Thailand's armed forces of carrying out the attack.

Local police chief Thammasak Wasaksiri said he believed Muslim rebels were responsible for the shooting.

"Insurgents always use this trick of attacking Muslim people to instigate villagers and get them to believe that police or soldiers were responsible for the attack," he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.

On Wednesday, nine people were killed in an attack on a minibus travelling from the neighbouring province of Yala to Songkhla. All the victims were Buddhist, police said. [Full text]

Nearly 300 schools and teachers have been attacked in Thailand according to this September 2006 article about the shooting of a Buddhist teacher who was standing at his blackboard. Forty-four teachers have been targeted by Islamic terrorists in Thailand since 2004. Now teachers are carrying guns to protect themselves and their students, according to the same article.

FOX NEWS (3-18-07) also carries an article about the 3-17-07 attack on the Islamist school and the riot and killings the attack has precipitated in the area:

After the school attack, suspected Muslim insurgents stormed a nearby charcoal factory, killing two Buddhist workers and wounding at least two others. Separately, a Buddhist man riding a motorcycle was gunned down.

Thammasak said police believe Muslim insurgents staged the school attack in an attempt to convince villagers that authorities were responsible and win them over to the insurgents' cause. Villagers, however, refused to believe Muslims were behind the violence and blamed government security forces, he said.

Thai authorities also blamed insurgents for a bombing at a mosque and a grenade attack at a tea shop last Wednesday that killed two Muslims in neighboring Yala province. Those attacks came hours after suspected Muslim insurgents killed eight Buddhist passengers in a commuter van in the same district of Yala, shooting them in the head execution-style.

Thailand is overwhelmingly Buddhist, but the country's far south is predominantly Muslim, and residents of the region have long felt that they are treated like second-class citizens.

The southern Muslim provinces have hundreds of religious Islamic schools, and authorities have accused some of them of harboring insurgents and serving as a training ground for violence.

Drive-by shootings and bombings occur almost daily in Thailand's three Muslim-majority provinces -- Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani -- and increasingly in the neighboring province of Songkhla.

Though Buddhist teachers have been targeted by the violence that flared three years ago, schoolchildren have largely been spared.

Violence in the south has increased since a military-installed government took power in September following a coup that ousted then-Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra.

Thailand's military imposed a curfew in two Yala districts on Thursday. Army spokesman Col. Akara Thiprot said it was the first time a curfew has been imposed in the region since separatist violence surged in January 2004. [Full text]

WASHINGTON - Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a string of others during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released Wednesday by the Pentagon.

"I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z," Mohammed said in a statement read during the session, which was held last Saturday...

Mohammed claimed responsibility for planning, financing and training others for plots ranging from the 1993 truck bombing of the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.

He said he was involved in planning the 2002 bombing of a Kenya beach resort frequented by Israelis and the failed missile attack on an Israeli passenger jet after it took off from Mombasa, Kenya. He also said he was responsible for the [10-12-02 Columbus Day] bombing of a nightclub in Bali, Indonesia. In 2002, 202 were killed when two Bali nightclubs were bombed...

Mohammed said he was responsible for planning 28 individual attacks. The comments were included in a 26-page transcript released by the Pentagon, which blacked out some of his remarks...

The transcripts also lay out evidence against Mohammed, saying that a computer seized during his capture included detailed information about the Sept. 11 plot...

The Shadow Wolves: First American Warriors Hunting Bin Laden!

AN elite group of Native American trackers is joining the hunt for terrorists crossing Afghanistan's borders.

The unit, the Shadow Wolves, was recruited from several tribes, including the Navajo, Sioux, Lakota and Apache. It is being sent to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to pass on ancestral sign-reading skills to local border units.

In recent years, members of the Shadow Wolves have mainly tracked smugglers along the US border with Mexico.

But the Taliban's resurgence in Afghanistan and the US military's failure to hunt down Osama bin Laden - still at large on his 50th birthday on Saturday - has prompted the Pentagon to requisition them.

US Defence Secretary Robert M.Gates said last month: "If I were Osama bin Laden, I'd keep looking over my shoulder."

The Pentagon has been alarmed at the ease with which Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters have been slipping in and out of Afghanistan. Defence officials are convinced their movements can be curtailed by the Shadow Wolves...

Some military experts want the Shadow Wolves to help to track down bin Laden. Despite a $US25 million bounty on his head and the use of billions of dollars worth of sophisticated equipment, US forces have so far failed to fulfil President George W. The Polonium Poisoning and the Russian Apartment Bombings: The Testimony of Mikail Trepashkin, ex-FSB Lawyer

This is a picture of an amazing 1998 press conference in Russia. The men in the picture are Russian FSB (formerly KGB) officers, and they are making accusations against Putin and the leaders of the FSB. The man on the right, Aleksandr Litvinenko, is claiming that he was ordered to kill the exiled oligarch Boris Berezovsky. Litvinenko, of course, is now known to the whole world as the ex-FSB officer who defected to Great Britain and who was poisoned in London by polonium-laced tea. Before he was murdered, Litvinenko reportedly even claimed that the FSB trained Osama Bin Laden's deputy Ayman al-Zawahiri in Dagestan in the years before the 9/11 attacks. In 2005, Litvinenko reportedly told a Polish paper called Rzeczpospolita that Zawahiri was trained in Dagestan.

Moscow News carries this story about Zawahiri being trained in Dagestan by the FSB but does not mention Litvinenko as the source of the story. [I will try to pin this claim down a little more.]

Here is a video of A. Litvinenko accusing Putin of ordering the murder of Anna Politkovskaya, a journalist who worked for Novaya Gazeta.

On the far left in this picture is an FSB lawyer named Mikhail Trepashkin [search for Trepashkin stories here]. Trepashkin investigated the 1999 apartment bombings in Russia that Putin blamed on Chechen separatists. These bombings were used as a pretext to invade Chechnya and helped Putin win the Presidential election in March 2000. Trepashkin claims that his investigation of the bombings led right back to the FSB.

The 9-22-99 bombing of a Ryazan apartment was foiled when one resident noticed people unloading heavy bags into the basement. He called the police and a telephone tap revealed evidence that tracked back to the Moscow FSB. The FSB then countered that they were only doing a training exercise.

After M. Trepashkin investigated these bombings and alleged that the FSB was complicit in these mass murders, M. Trepashkin says a gun was planted in his car. He was arrested for divulging state secrets and put in prison.

His lawyer says he has information about the Litvinenko murder, too.

Below is a picture [credit] of Trepashkin in prison. On 3-9-07, RIA Novosti reported that the authorities have decided to give Trepashkin a harsher regime because he is supposedly an uncooperative prisoner:

A Russian court has ruled to transfer former security service officer Mikhail Trepashkin, serving a term for divulging state secrets, to a prison colony with a stricter regime...The colony administration has called for a toughening of his prison regime due to alleged breaches of internal regulations by Trepashkin.

It is hard to know the truth for sure about Trepashkin's case, but I think that Trepashkin was probably imprisoned for doing his job of investigating crimes honestly. I think that he is being punished for revealing the crimes of the FSB against its own citizens. In 2002, Trepashkin was even Litvinenko's lawyer [see: AFTER YEARS OF DISPUTES WITH AUTHORITIES].

Trepashkin reportedly claims that the FSB once proposed that he kill Litvinenko.

A blogger at A Step at a Time reports:

On March 9, Mikhail Trepashkin’s appeal will be heard by a court in Nizhny Tagil (Sverdlovsk Oblast). Trepashkin, a former FSB official who is serving a 4-year jail sentence for allegedly disclosing state secrets, and who is a witness of major importance in the Litvinenko poisoning case, has given an interview to The New Times in which he describes how the FSB proposed that he take part in the liquidation of Litvinenko. Newsru.com has published some excerpts from the interview. Asked why the special services chose such a complicated plan for eliminating Litvinenko, Trepashkin replies [my tr.]:

I think it was carelessness in the work of the agents who carried out the murder, and also the organizer’s intention to kill the agents along with Litvinenko, and also Litvinenko’s family, Berezovsky and Zakayev (while they were at it). It’s possible that the agents didn’t know about the possible consequences for themselves and the environment. I think they calculated that the cause of death would never be precisely established as polonium.

You can draw your own conclusions. But I will add the following. Back in 2001, when I telephoned Litvinenko in London for the first time on Shebalin’s request (on behalf of the FSB, as he explained), I asked him if he was going to write a new book, where he was working and with whom, and he replied that he had a job as a postman in the mornings. Then, some time later, Shebalin expressed the view that it would be a good thing to send him (Litvinenko) a letter containing powder. There was a lot being written about such letters in the States at the time.

Some Russian authorities have claimed that the murders of Putin's critics are being done by Putin's enemies to discredit Putin. This official explanation is belied by the fact that the Russian government has not caught any of the murderers. This official explanation is also is belied by the case of M. Trepashkin. It was not Putin's enemies who put M. Trepashkin in prison; it was Putin's regime that did that.

A site called The Trepashkin Case also has information about this ex-FSB lawyer's history. This site also has an informative link to information about a film that investigates the mysterious Moscow apartment bombings in 1999. This 2004 film is called Disbelief and was directed by Andrei Nekrasov. [Watch the film right now!] There were also apartment bombings in other Russian cities as well.

The article about Disbelief is prefaced by this statement:

The bombing on September 9, 1999, of a nine-story working-class apartment complex in Moscow was quickly blamed on Chechen terrorists. But was it their crime? Or did the Russian secret service deflect its own responsibility for the bombing on the Chechens to heighten national fear and hysteria and justify Russia's subsequent military attack on the breakaway republic?"

Deploying all the suspense and drama of a sophisticated murder mystery, Nekrasov has created one of the most compelling and captivating films of the year” - 2004 Sundance Film Festival Catalogue.

This 3-5-07 article in the Hamilton Spectator (by David Holley of the Los Angeles Times) tells about all the people who have died while trying to get to the bottom of these apartment bombings.

Holley writes:

Despite all the official denials, bus driver Alexei Kartofelnikov still thinks someone tried to blow up his home in September 1999.

A series of bomb blasts that authorities blamed on Chechen terrorists already had destroyed four apartment buildings in Russia that month, killing 310 people. Kartofelnikov's vigilance led police to discover an apparent bomb made with sacks of white powder in the basement of his apartment block in Ryazan, about 150 kilometres southeast of Moscow.

Two days later, the interior minister said authorities had prevented another attack. But the director of the Federal Security Service, or FSB, the main successor to the KGB, contradicted him, saying it was an exercise by his agency. The powder was just sugar, FSB director Nikolai Patrushev said.

The Ryazan case might have remained a historical footnote had the Kremlin not launched its second war in Chechnya that month, a tough response that boosted the popularity of the new prime minister, Vladimir Putin. Riding that popularity, Putin was elected president six months later.

A series of Kremlin critics who demanded an independent investigation of the bombings have since died in murky circumstances. The latest were former KGB agent Alexander Litvinenko, who was poisoned by radioactive polonium-210, and journalist Anna Politkovskaya.

Critics say the evidence suggests the FSB tried to plant a real bomb at Kartofelnikov's building. If that's true, they say, it indicates the spy agency also might have been behind the other bombings, in a bid to boost the popularity of Putin, a former KGB spy.

Litvinenko made that argument in a 2002 book, Blowing Up Russia: Terror From Within, which he wrote with historian Yuri Felshtinsky...[Amazon link to English version]

Doubts surfaced almost immediately about the accusation against the Chechens and the FSB's claim that the Ryazan incident was merely a test.

The debris from the Moscow bombings was cleared so quickly that critics wondered why authorities were willing to forgo the chance to search for more evidence. [full text]

I am going to do more reading about these dissidents' allegations that the FSB was behind the bombing of Russian people's apartments. When they first surfaced, I thought that these accusations against Putin's FSB by might be exaggerated and perhaps were fabricated by his enemies and aimed at discrediting him; but Putin's enemies did not put Mikail Trepashkin into prison. Putin did that. Andrei Sakarov's wife, Yelena Bonner, claims that the official investigation of the bombings was a sham and that the prosecutions were "show trials." A number of people who have tried to investigate these bombings independently have died violently after they participated in Andrei Kovalyev's independent commission to investigate the bombings. Trepashkin was the legal counsel for the Kovalev Commission, which also seems to be called the Terror '99 Commission.

According to Y. Bonner:

The landlord in the bombed building told Mr. Trepashkin that the FSB had forced him to recognize a Chechen suspect - someone he had never seen - as the man who rented the basement to plant the bomb. From the landlord's description Mr. Trepashkin identified the real terrorist - a known FSB agent.

Maybe some men in the Russian FSB actually did speak truth to power, instead of the usual lies. It is hard to know the truth.

I am going to read two books that are due out soon: Litvinenko's book, Blowing Up Russia: The Secret Plot to Bring Back KGB Terror (Encounter Books, April 2007) and a book by Alex Goldfarb and Marina Litvinenko called Death of a Dissident: Alexander Litvinenko and the Death of Russian Democracy (The Free Press, May 2007). David Satter, the former Moscow correspondant for the Wall Street Journal, has also written an account of the apartment bombings in his book Darkness at Dawn: The Rise of the Russian Criminal State (Yale University Press, 2004).

Russian FSB assassins may even have been involved in the 3-1-07 shooting of Paul Joyal, an American expert on the KGB, and in the sudden death on 2-20-07 of a British journalist for the London Times, Dan McGrory. Both of these men were interviewed by Dateline for a 2-25-07 program about the Polonium murder of A. Litvinenko.

The UnChutchables! "Wood Rasp" Whitmer Disses Burritoists Worldwide and Natsu Saito Steps into a Car with Ward Churchill!

"Wood Rasp" Whitmer, who has disparaged businessman Peter Fotopoulos as a "burrito vendor," evidently prodded this pesky Fotopoulos, who was in attendance, to stop videotaping the Teach-In.

But it doesn't matter, because yours truly descended from the Grassy Knoll and live-blogged the entire 16 hours [video]!

This public event to "educate" the public about the disgraced Plagiarist of Ethnic studies, Ward Churchill, was marred by one slight hitch: "Wood Rasp"---not exactly the sharpest knife in the Ethnic Studies drawer---inadvertently mistook this Burritoist talent scout for a spy!

Poor "Wood Rasp"! I wonder if Wardo will ever be able to forgive him? And the Maoist MIM will probably get all lathered up again, too!

Harrassing the Burritoist Fotopoulos showed incredibly poor judgement on Whitmer's part. Whitmer may soon be trying to match his skill sets with a suitable position in the food service industry too [video], so it is really pretty bad judgement on his part to be dissing Burritoist Roaders while hanging out on the World Wide Web.

Whitmer's impolitic habit of threatening to rape people with a wood rasp has undoubtedly now disqualifed him from that coveted sinecure set aside for UnChutchables at Casa Bonita: impersonating Chiquita the angry gorilla! (Wardo has first dibs, of course). On the plus side, Whitmer's creation of that swaggering Internet persona "Moredock" demonstrates that he has "the right stuff" to be cast for one of the pirate positions (Not to be confused with this pirate, however!). I sure hope young "Wood Rasp" hasn't blown his big showbiz break by accusing the Burritoist talent scout of being a spy!


Drunkablog noted that Ward Churchill's fourth wife, Natsu Saito (seen in this undated photo on the left, seated next to Ward Churchill), also spoke; but Drunka failed to do justice to her performance [reprise of 16-hour video]...

Saito, who has unfortunately contracted an embarrassing, contagious, and possibly terminal case of spy mania, warned everyone that Crowellians in the audience were audiotaping the public Teach-In and predicted that her Wardo will be kaput in the next couple of months.

Actually, what happened at the Teach-In was far worse than Drunkablog indicated. Far worse...And now I've got the documentation, the picture (above), to prove it. So next time, when I iterate it, it's going to be a much sharper finding: After the event, Natsu Saito got into a car with Ward Churchill!

Bizness Leak reports that in the event that Casa Bonita expands its performances to the parking lot, managment might decide to work N. Saito (whose cv until recently noted that she had a perfect 800 on her LSAT) into the UnChutchables act, too! (Hat Tip Pirate Ballerina 3-9-07)

"Anti-Imperialist" Site Claims That Professor Ward Churchill Has Been Fired!

Once apon a time, a frog hopped out of his home in the marsh and proclaimed to all the beasts in the land that he was a great and learned physician, skilled in the use of drugs and able to heal all diseases.

According to the Maoist-led Revolutionary Anti-Imperialist Movement (RAIM), the Plagiarist of Ethnic Studies, Ward Churchill, has been fired from the University of Colorado. The RAIM [March 5, 2007] claims:

"Ward Churchill got fired from the University of KKKolorado-Boulder for telling the brutal truth about AmeriKKKan hiSStory."

The RAIM claims that Churchill, his bride, and his blog toadie, Benjamin Whitmer, will be holding a teach in "[to] clear up misconceptions and rumors about Ward Churchill’s case..."

Nobody from Ward Churchill's own Department of Ethnic Studies seems scheduled to speak at the teach-in. Perhaps they are embarrassed that the head of their department turned out to be such a big plagiarist and historical fabricator.

The University of Colorado has not yet posted any confirmation of the RAIM's claims on its official Ward Churchill Academic Misconduct site. The long-anticipated news about Ward Churchill's downfall [video] would be more authoritative from the official University site.

March 6, 2007 Update: Ward Churchill watchers such as Drunkablog and Pirate Ballerina [3-6-07]continue to maintain that Churchill has not been fired--yet. This seems likely since, as noted above, the official C.U. Ward Churchill Academic Misconduct site has not announced that he has been fired.
