Et Tu, Puty-Put?

Putin Accused of Plagiarizing His Ph.D. Thesis

"It was really quite common for an up-and-coming apparatchik to get a ghostwritten work done to obtain a degree," he said. "It's probably an open question whether Putin even read his dissertation until shortly before he had to defend it."----Moscow Times 3/27/06 quoting E. Wayne Merry, senior associate at the American Foreign Policy Council

Putin accused of plagiarising his PhD thesis

Tony Allen-Mills,
New York

THE career of President Vladimir Putin of Russia was built at least in part on a lie, according to US researchers. A new study of an economics thesis written by Putin in the mid-1990s has revealed that large chunks of it were copied from an American text.

Putin was labelled a plagiarist yesterday after a pair of researchers at the Brookings Institution, a Washington DC think tank, established that the Russian president’s academic credentials were based on a dissertation he had lifted in part verbatim from the Russian translation of a management study written by two professors at the University of Pittsburgh in 1978......

According to Clifford G Gaddy, a senior fellow at Brookings, 16 of the 20 pages that open a key section of Putin’s work were copied either word for word or with minute alterations from a management study, Strategic Planning and Policy, written by US professors William King and David Cleland. The study was translated into Russian by a KGB-related institute in the early 1990s...

Putin’s work was entitled “The Strategic Planning of Regional Resources Under the Formation of Market Relations” and was largely an essay on how a state should manage its natural resources. Experts on the former Soviet Union said last week it was common for ambitious “apparatchiks” to seek to inflate their credentials with an impressive-sounding degree, and that there were many cases at the time of officials hiring ghost-writers to produce work they passed off as their own...

...US scholars say that his academic studies in the mid-1990s may have been intended to impress the western investors who were flooding into the rapidly modernising Russian city.
“Somebody was cutting corners,” Gaddy added, “whether it was Mr Putin or whoever cut and pasted the work for him.”

Moscow Times reported the same story on March 27 and observed:

Dubious academic credential-building was common in Eastern Europe and especially in East Germany, where Putin once served as a KGB agent, E. Wayne Merry, senior associate at the American Foreign Policy Council, told The Washington Times. "It was really quite common for an up-and-coming apparatchik to get a ghostwritten work done to obtain a degree," he said. "It's probably an open question whether Putin even read his dissertation until shortly before he had to defend it." http://www.themoscowtimes.com/stories/2006/03/27/011.html

Birds of a Feather: Gennady Zyuganov and Ward Churchill Sing Their Swan Songs

Developing...

I've heard the first cuckoo of spring
Of genocides trying to sing,
But the anthem was hissed
Through a plagiarist's lisp;
Hence, proFessors proved he was lying!

Professor Ward Churchill has claimed that in 1837 the American Army deliberately infected the Mandan Indians with smallpox, but Professor Thomas Brown examined Churchill's allegations and stated:
In a series of essays written during the 1990s, Churchill gradually elaborates his version of the origins of the smallpox epidemic that broke out on the northern plains in 1837, which probably killed twenty to thirty thousand people. Churchill charges the U.S. Army with infecting the Mandan tribe with gifts of smallpox-laden blankets, withholding treatment, and thus causing an epidemic that Churchill says killed more than 125,000 people...
Churchill fabricated the most crucial details of his genocide story. Churchill radically misrepresented the sources he cites in support of his genocide charges, sources which say essentially the opposite of what Churchill attributes to them.
When he was exposed for fabricating history, Churchill blustered:
What happened at Fort Clark was far worse than I indicated. Far worse....And now I've got the documentation, the paper, to prove it. So next time I iterate it, it's going to be a much sharper finding on genocidal intent with Fort Clark."
So far, Churchill has not shown anyone his new evidence.
The scholar Russell Thornton says that a steamship that traded with the Indians first brought the smallpox to a Mandan village, not to Fort Clark:
Steamboats had been traveling the upper Missouri River for years before 1837, dispatched by Saint Louis fur companies for trade with the Mandan and other Indians. At 3:00 P.M. on June 19, 1837, the American Fur Company steamboat St. Peter’s arrived at the Mandan villages after stopping at Fort Clark just downstream. Some aboard the steamer had smallpox when the boat docked. It soon was spread to the Mandan, perhaps by deckhands who unloaded merchandise, perhaps by chiefs who went aboard a few days later, or perhaps by women and children who went aboard at the same time. http://hal.lamar.edu/~browntf/Churchill1.htm
The charge that America practices biological warfare is a staple of communist propaganda. During the 1980s the communist media claimed that U.S. Army biowarfare scientists developed the AIDS virus at Fort Detrick, Maryland. More recently the Russian Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov, who used to be a high-ranking party propagandist and not a scientist, claimed that America is spreading bird flu:
The forms of warfare are changing. It's strange that not a single duck has yet died in America - they are all dying in Russia and European countries. This makes one seriously wonder why," Zyuganov said at a press conference at the Interfax main office on Tuesday...
Asked to be more precise as to whether he believes the bird flu outbreak could be a deliberate attack by the U.S., Zyuganov answered positively."I not only suggest this, I know very well how this can be arranged. There is nothing strange here," he said.
See also:
Although Zyuganov believes that the Americans are responsible for the bird flu, most Russian scientists believe that the bird flu was brought to Russia by migratory birds; but there is also another theory that domestic fowl are the principal carriers.
Dr. Richard Thomas, an expert at Birdlife International, observes:
From the pattern of spread that we saw last autumn the spread [of the disease] just did not follow known migration routes. What it did follow, you can trace it from western China across to Eastern Europe," he says. "And you see a good correlation with the transport routes, with the railway that runs from Lanchow city heading west through Kazakhstan and southern Russia right away across to Romania.

Unclassified Documents and Media Captured During Operation Iraqi Freedom Released

"America has evidence that the Iraqi government and the group of Osama bin Laden have cooperated to attack targets inside America." ---the Iraqi "Republican Command, Intelligence Division," dated September 15, 2001.

Developing...

The Foreign Military Studies Office Joint Reserve Intelligence Center at Leavenworth has released documents that they captured in Iraq. The documents include details about Iraq's sponsorship of terrorism and about the relationship and cooperation of the Iraqi intelligence with Al Qaeda. More documents and audio tapes will be released soon.

Other documents are at West Point's Combatting Terrorism Center:
http://www.ctc.usma.edu/harmony_docs.asp

In the first link below, Stephen Hayes of the Weekly Standard describes the document release. The second link details Iraq's relationships with both Communist and Al Qaeda terrorist groups, based on the captured Iraqi documents.

http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/975brvct.asp
http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/990ieqmb.asp

The documents detail Iraqi support for the Al Qaeda-linked Philippino terrorist organization Abu Sayyaf. Hayes writes:

"SADDAM HUSSEIN'S REGIME PROVIDED FINANCIAL support to Abu Sayyaf, the al Qaeda-linked jihadist group founded by Osama bin Laden's brother-in-law in the Philippines in the late 1990s, according to documents captured in postwar Iraq. An eight-page fax dated June 6, 2001, and sent from the Iraqi ambassador in Manila to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Baghdad, provides an update on Abu Sayyaf kidnappings and indicates that the Iraqi regime was providing the group with money to purchase weapons. The Iraqi regime suspended its support--temporarily, it seems--after high-profile kidnappings, including of Americans, focused international attention on the terrorist group." http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/990ieqmb.asp
One translated document, written only four days after 9-11, even reports that Iraq and Al Qaeda "cooperated to attack targets inside America." Although the document does not specify that it is describing the 9-11 attacks, the date of the document and the anticipation of an American attack suggests that the writer may well have been alluding to 9-11.

Hayes writes:

"The final document provided to The Weekly Standard is a translation of a memo from the "Republican Command, Intelligence Division," dated September 15, 2001. It is addressed to 'Mr. M.A.M.5.'"

"Our Afghani source number 11002 (his biographic information in attachment #1) has provided us information that the Afghani consul Ahmed Dahestani (his biographic information attachment #2) has talked in front of him about the following:

1. That Osama bin Laden and the Taliban group in Afghanistan are in communication with Iraq and that previously a group of Taliban and Osama bin Laden have visited Iraq.

2. That America has evidence that the Iraqi government and the group of Osama bin Laden have cooperated to attack targets inside America.

3. In the event that it has been proven that the group of Osama bin Laden and the Taliban planning such operations, it is possible that America will attack Iraq and Afghanistan.

4. That the Afghani consul heard of the relation between Iraq and the group of Osama bin Laden while he was in Iran.

5. In the light of what has been presented, we suggest to write to the committee of information." http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/990ieqmb.asp?pg=2

This date and content of this document makes it pretty obvious that the Iraqi intelligence had a clandestine operational relationship with Bin Laden and was planning their post-9/11 response. An Afghan diplomat, Ahmed Dahestani, informed another Afghan, who was an agent of Iraq, that as soon as the Americans established proof of the link between Al Qaeda and Iraq that U.S forces would attack Afghanistan and Iraq. Ahmed Dahestani seems to have heard about the relationship between Bin Laden and Iraq while he was in Iran.

Here is an article about Saddam's other miscalculations in Foreign Affairs.
http://www.foreignaffairs.org/20060501faessay85301/kevin-woods-james-lacey-williamson-murray/saddam-s-delusions-the-view-from-the-inside.html?mode=printsfh

The Foreign Affairs article states:

"Throughout the years of relative external peace for Iraq after Operation Desert Storm, in 1991, Saddam Hussein continued to receive and give credence to optimistic assessments of his regime's prospects dished up by his top military officers. Deputy Prime Minister Tariq Aziz described the dictator as having been "very confident" that the United States would not dare to attack Iraq, and that if it did, it would be defeated. What was the source of Saddam's confidence?
Judging from his private statements, the single most important element in Saddam's strategic calculus was his faith that France and Russia would prevent an invasion by the United States. According to Aziz, Saddam's confidence was firmly rooted in his belief in the nexus between the economic interests of France and Russia and his own strategic goals: "France and Russia each secured millions of dollars worth of trade and service contracts in Iraq, with the implied understanding that their political posture with regard to sanctions on Iraq would be pro-Iraqi. In addition, the French wanted sanctions lifted to safeguard their trade and service contracts in Iraq. Moreover, they wanted to prove their importance in the world as members of the Security Council -- that they could use their veto to show they still had power."
Ibrahim Ahmad Abd al-Sattar, the Iraqi army and armed forces chief of staff, claimed that Saddam believed that even if his international supporters failed him and the United States did launch a ground invasion, Washington would rapidly bow to international pressure to halt the war. According to his personal interpreter, Saddam also thought his "superior" forces would put up "a heroic resistance and . . . inflict such enormous losses on the Americans that they would stop their advance." Saddam remained convinced that, in his own words, "Iraq will not, in any way, be like Afghanistan. We will not let the war become a picnic for the American or the British soldiers. No way!"
When the coalition assault did come, Saddam stubbornly clung to the belief that the Americans would be satisfied with an outcome short of regime change. According to Sattar, "No Iraqi leaders had believed coalition forces would ever reach Baghdad." Saddam's conviction that his regime would survive the war was the primary reason he did not have his forces torch Iraq's oil fields or open the dams to flood the south, moves many analysts predicted would be among Iraq's first in the event of an invasion. In the words of Aziz, "[Saddam] thought that this war would not lead to this ending." Saddam realized that if his strategic calculus was correct, he would need the oil to prop up the regime. Even with U.S. tanks crossing the Iraqi border, an internal revolt remained Saddam's biggest fear. In order to quell any postwar revolt, he would need the bridges to remain intact and the land in the south to remain unflooded. On this basis, Saddam planned his moves.
Some senior Iraqi military officers did not share their leader's assumptions, taking a more pessimistic view. The director of military intelligence, Zuhayr Talib Abd al-Sattar al-Naqib, commented that except for Saddam and the inner circle, most knowledgeable Iraqis secretly believed that the war would continue all the way to an occupation. The commander of the First Republican Guard Corps admitted, "There was nothing that could have been done to stop the Americans after they began." Sultan Hashim Ahmad al-Tai, the minister of defense, recalled that "Iraqi military professionals were not surprised at U.S. actions at all. We knew what preparations were required, and what would happen if those preparations were not done properly. . . . Even if we had a real defense, we wouldn't have stopped the Americans, but we would have made the price exaggerated."
As late as the end of March 2003, Saddam apparently still believed that the war was going the way he had expected. If Iraq was not actually winning it, neither was it losing -- or at least so it seemed to the dictator. Americans may have listened with amusement to the seemingly obvious fabrications of Muhammad Said al-Sahaf, Iraq's information minister (nicknamed "Baghdad Bob" by the media). But the evidence now clearly shows that Saddam and those around him believed virtually every word issued by their own propaganda machine."

The Foreign Affairs article also observes:

"The Saddam Fedayeen also took part in the regime's domestic terrorism operations and planned for attacks throughout Europe and the Middle East. In a document dated May 1999, Saddam's older son, Uday, ordered preparations for "special operations, assassinations, and bombings, for the centers and traitor symbols in London, Iran and the self-ruled areas [Kurdistan]." Preparations for "Blessed July," a regime-directed wave of "martyrdom" operations against targets in the West, were well under way at the time of the coalition invasion."

I think that, as these new documents come out, they may well provide more detail about the joint operations of Iraqi agents and Al Qaeda even in America.

The captured Iraqi documents probably provide our military and intelligence with both foreign domestic counter-terrorism intelligence. For this reason, some documents may remain classified so that their intelligence value can be exploited and so that terrorist organizations and their collaborators will not be tipped off.

Here is a summary of a meeting of Saddam's "Reform and Advice Committee" that was posted On March 18, 2006 at the Captain's Quarter Blog. It seems that once Bin Ladin left Sudan for Afghanistan, the Iraqis hoped to "invigorate" their relationship with Bin Laden through a "new channel" in light of his present location. This suggests that Iraq had a relationship with Bin Laden while he was in Sudan:

http://www.captainsquartersblog.com/mt/archives/006554.php

A. During the visit of the Sudanese Dr. Ibrahim al-Sanusi to Iraq and his meeting with Mr. Uday Saddam Hussein, on December 13, 1994, in the presence of the respectable, Mr. Director of the Intelligence Service, he [Dr. al-Sanusi] pointed out that the opposing Osama bin Laden, residing in Sudan, is reserved and afraid to be depicted by his enemies as an agent of Iraq. We prepared to meet him in Sudan (The Honorable Presidency was informed of the results of the meeting in our letter 782 on December 17, 1994).

B. An approval to meet with opposer Osama bin Laden by the Intelligence Services was given by the Honorable Presidency in its letter 138, dated January 11, 1995 (attachment 6). He [bin Laden] was met by the previous general director of M4 in Sudan and in the presence of the Sudanese, Ibrahim al-Sanusi, on February 19, 1995. We discussed with him his organization. He requested the broadcast of the speeches of Sheikh Sulayman al-Uda (who has influence within Saudi Arabia and outside due to being a well known religious and influential personality) and to designate a program for them through the broadcast directed inside Iraq, and to perform joint operations against the foreign forces in the land of Hijaz. (The Honorable Presidency was informed of the details of the meeting in our letter 370 on March 4, 1995, attachment 7.)

C. The approval was received from the Leader, Mr. President, may God keep him, to designate a program for them through the directed broadcast. We were left to develop the relationship and the cooperation between the two sides to see what other doors of cooperation and agreement open up. The Sudanese side was informed of the Honorable Presidency's agreement above, through the representative of the Respectable Director of Intelligence Services, our Ambassador in Khartoum.
D. Due to the recent situation of Sudan and being accused of supporting and embracing of terrorism, an agreement with the opposing Saudi Osama bin Laden was reached. The agreement required him to leave Sudan to another area. He left Khartoum in July 1996. The information we have indicates that he is currently in Afghanistan. The relationship with him is ongoing through the Sudanese side. Currently we are working to invigorate this relationship through a new channel in light of his present location.

Wounded Knee, February 1973

Here are links to different accounts of the "occupation" at Wounded Knee in February of 1973. Whom do you believe?

https://www.nybooks.com/articles/6103 (John Burrows in NYT)

In February, 1973, 100-200 AIM "braves" took power in the Sioux town of Wounded Knee on Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

They destroyed Indian people's houses and Indian historical artifacts. They held people hostage. They beat up an old white man who had appreciated Indian cuture enough to create a little museum. He was white but married to an Indian and had lived among Indians for 50 years. The stolen artifacts looted from his family's little museum were later sold to wealthy white collectors. These AIM "braves" urinated and defecated on the floors of people's homes, shot their pets, and destroyed their children's toys.

"[O]ne hundred to two hundred Indians led by members of the American Indian Movement (AIM), swarmed into Wounded Knee and wrecked Clive Gildersleeve's museum. They knocked the old man down and spat on him. They smashed and overturned glass display cases and slashed hide paintings and pictures. Then they left, these self-proclaimed AIM "warriors," taking with them whatever artifacts they had not destroyed. Altogether they stole, destroyed or damaged $50,000 worth of irreplaceable Sioux treasures. Many of these items were later sold to white collectors. "The reason for that destruction," AIM "leader" Clyde Bellecourt said, "was that the owner, even though he was married to an Oglala Sioux, was white.....The AIM people destroyed the homes of Indian residents. They stole valuables and burnt furniture. They shot pets, dogs and cats, and smashed children's tricycles. They defecated and urinated on floors—after having "purified" themselves in "sweat" rituals. Sanitation does not obtain in the Indian movement." https://www.nybooks.com/articles/6103

They were terrorists.

Terrorists took over an American town, held it hostage, and dared the FBI to do something about it.

How did that help Indians?

An American town full of women and children was taken over by 100-200 gangsters and the government was powerless to do anything. Perhaps they were afraid that these "braves" would stage a Waco if they went in and arrested them.

A lot of innocent people would have been murdered. AIM were terrorists, just like the terrorists in Fallujah who hide behind civilians.

Real Indian warriors never hid behind their women, children and old people. AIM did, because they didn't care about the innocent people in Wounded Knee.

If anything, they may have been hoping for, some over-reaction on the part of the government. Perhaps AIM hoped to incite a reinactment of the historical Wounded Knee massacre. That's what AIM did when they gunned down two FBI agents on the anniversary of Custer's Last Stand in 1975.

Ward Churchill claims he was on the Pine Ridge Reservation when the two agents were gunned-down. He has written that the two FBI guys died "Custerlike" in their "self-made trap." http://legendofpineridge.blogspot.com/2006/03/custer-like-military-defeat-or-cold.html

In fact, the FBI guys were caught unawares. They hardly shot any bullets. The whole thing seems to have been some sick live theater with the unwitting FBI agents playing the role of Custer.
http://legendofpineridge.blogspot.com/2006/03/custer-like-military-defeat-or-cold.html

Some AIMsters were white communists who exploited the Indians as pawns in their battle with the USA. That's where the Ward Churchill types seem to fit in.

Dr. David Yeagley

"Were it not for the Navajos, the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima."
---Major Howard Connor, 5th Marine Division Signal Officer
Developing...

The bloggers at Tryworks have posted comments disparaging an Indian academic named Dr. David Yeagley. They claim he is an isolated loser with no following.
http://tryworks.blogspot.com/2006/03/wednesdays-child-forever.html

Tryworks is jealous that Dr. Yeagley was written up in this article
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21598

Whatever his politics, Professor Yeagley is at least speaking as a real Indian with a Ph.D. He's not masquerading as an Indian like Ward Churchill, who has never earned a doctorate, who doesn't hold membership in any tribe, and has never produced any evidence of Indian ancestry.

Yeagley has a positive message for Indians, too. I like that.
Yeagley writes:

"Indians need to take an attitude of ownership of America, not alienation. I don't believe we can survive in a state of alienation. I think we should contribute our influence to helping preserve America, this great nation that grew up on our land." http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21598

Here is his website http://www.badeagle.com/

Wardo is a white leftist who cynically uses Indians as human shields when he fights with the FBI. It is true that Wardo has some followers, but so did Lenin, Stalin, Hitler, and Mao.

The Maoist organization MIM gives Wardo a lot of support.
They are always writing articles to support him.
How embarrassing to be supported by people who are devotees of Mao, a man whose policies caused the deaths of 70 million Chinese in peacetime and who said that if half the Chinese nation had to die to build his twisted utopia that this was an acceptable price to pay. [Mao: The Unknown Story]

Churchill bragged that Maoist goon squads intimidated the journalist Charlie Brennan, who covers the never-ending Ward Churchill scandals for the Rocky Mountain News. Of course, it is possible that Churchill may have been indulging in some wishful fantasizing when he made this apocryphal boast about his Maoist devotees to the writer Joshua Franks:

Both the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) and its recent spin-off, the Maoist International Movement (MIM) have used their weekly papers to advance some of the best analysis of my case and its implications yet published. MIM has been especially consistent in putting its cadres on the street to do political education concerning my case, gathering signatures on petitions supporting me, and the like. This has led to some interesting results, to say the least.

One of the high points of my spring was when, unbeknownst to me at the time, a bunch of MIMsters cornered Rocky Mountain News reporter Charlie Brennan on the sidewalk outside the Women's Building in San Francisco -- he was there because I was speaking inside -- and told him he wasn't taking another step until he signed their petition supporting me. Man, I'd love to have seen the look on his face! They eventually cut him loose without signing, but let's just say he's stopped stalking me around the country -- he'd earlier shown up at a talk I gave at the University of Wisconsin's Whitewater campus, and a few other unlikely locations -- and I think the MIM people can take credit for his absence. Sooooo...

Thanks, comrades. http://www.dissidentvoice.org/Oct05/Frank1010.htm

Dr. Yeagley is a real Indian who may have been fired from an Oklahoma University because his politics didn't suit his enemies---white leftist academics like Wardo: America-hating, Indian-hating "Moredocks" who don't really care about America or Indians at all. I don't label these people as "liberal," because their values are actually very illiberal.

According to Front Page Magazine:

"Dr. Yeagley is a former teacher of humanities and psychology. He taught at Oklahoma State University (OKC), and also at the University of Central Oklahoma, and the University of Oklahoma. He was a full-time adjunct professor at OSU-OKC, but he was dismissed when he began advocating American patriotism in his classes and writing for FrontPageMagazine." http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=21598

Wardo makes it seem like Indians are all an opressed, alienated bunch of losers, but it isn't true.

Mohawk Indians have historically been employed building New York's skyscrapers. I read in an Indian publication that on 9-11, an Indian construction team was working on one of the towers and even rescued people:

"Mohawk ironworkers helped build the World Trade Center and other monuments of the New York City skyline, and one crew was actually at work in the flight path of the plane that struck the second tower. St. Regis Mohawk Chief James Ransom noted that they joined rescue teams at great personal risk." http://www.indiancountry.com/content.cfm?id=1096410295

American Indians will always be remembered for their contributions to signals intelligence during both world wars. They were famous as code talkers who spoke languages that the enemy could not understand.

"At Iwo Jima," Major Howard Connor, 5th Marine Division signal officer, declared, "Were it not for the Navajos, the Marines would never have taken Iwo Jima." Connor had six Navajo code talkers working around the clock during the first two days of the battle. Those six sent and received over 800 messages, all without error. The Japanese, who were skilled code breakers, remained baffled by the Navajo language. The Japanese chief of intelligence, Lieutenant General Seizo Arisue, said that while they were able to decipher the codes used by the US Army and Army Air Corps, they never cracked the code used by the Marines. The Navajo code talkers even stymied a Navajo soldier taken prisoner at Bataan. (About 20 Navajos served in the US Army in the Philippines.) The Navajo soldier, forced to listen to the jumbled words of talker transmissions, said to a code talker after the war, "I never figured out what you guys who got me into all that trouble were saying."In 1942, there were about 50,000 Navajo tribe members. As of 1945, about 540 Navajos served as Marines. From 375 to 420 of those trained as code talkers; the rest served in other capacities."
http://www.defenselink.mil/specials/nativeamerican01/code.html

One of the Navajo code talkers, Albert Smith, was only 15 years old.

"Late in his life, Albert Smith explained, the code word for America was, "Our Mother." Our Mother stood for freedom, our religion, our ways of life, and that's why we went in. "
http://usgovinfo.about.com/blwhrelease15.htm

Here is a recent interview with Albert Smith:

"I was enlisted in 1943, in April. I had to fib about my age, 'cause my brother and I, we wanted to go into the war together... we wanted to stay together… He was seventeen, so he move his age up two years and I move mine from 15 to 17." http://www.thenavajocodetalkers.com/bios_albertsmith.htm

Another code-talker was Samuel Jesse Smith:

"My purpose for joining the Marine Corps was to get even with the Japanese for December 7, Pearl Harbor attack." http://www.thenavajocodetalkers.com/bios_smith.htm

The Activist Lawyers Lee Hill and David Lane

Developing...

Here is a Westword article about the Boulder lawyer and American Indian Movement (AIM) activist Lee Hill. Lee Hill also was an activist and lawyer on behalf of Leonard Peltier, the man convicted of aiding and abetting in the murder the two FBI agents on Pine Ridge on Jun 26, 1975.

This article should be read and studied carefully. The lawyer's goal seems to be not to protect his supposedly "endangered" client but to denigrate the Boulder authorities and to suggest that the authorities are protecting the person/s who murdered the Boulder child JonBenet Ramsey. I call this the "protected pedophiles conspiracy theory" of the JonBenet Ramsey murder.

This conspiracy theory was promoted by the clients of two activist lawyers with ties to Ward Churchill--Lee Hill and David Lane.

Lane is Churchill's current lawyer. These lawyers' clients even got into trouble for trying to influence the secret JonBenet Ramsey grand jury.

David Lane's client Evan Ravitz, who got in trouble for illegally influencing a grand jury, also claims to have been advised at times by Lee Hill: "I sought legal counsel from (Boulder lawyer) Lee Hill, and he said it was his understanding that people could contact a grand jury member," said Ravitz.

Ravitz, strong advocate for the protected pedophile conspiracy theory, writes:

This year I had substantive contact with 2 Grand Jury investigators, 2 District Attorneys, 3 District Judges, several Grand Jurors, the ACLU of both Boulder and Colorado, attorneys and citizens around the country. It has been an extraordinary education in what my pro bono attorney and Grand Jury expert David Lane calls the "Just us" system...what we still want investigated is what we believe DA Hunter most wants to avoid: the possibility that pedophiles- who we name- in very high places in Boulder de-railed the investigation... http://www.vote.org/ramsey/salazar.htm (dead link)

Another post on the internet that features David Lane alleges: "Evidence of Pedophiles in High Places Blocked in Investigation into the Murder of JonBenet."

The protected pedophiles conspiracy theory is a lot like Ward Churchill's allegation that FBI-backed death squads murdered 342 people on Pine Ridge. Churchill has spent his life denigrating American law enforcement. He has promoted claims that alleged FBI-backed killings were not simply murders but part of "a pattern of officially-sponsored terrorism."

It seems to me that what AIM operatives did on Pine Ridge to make the Indians mistrust the FBI, was now being repeated in Boulder. The goal of the propaganda was not to see justice done but to denigrate law enforcement and make people think that law enforcement was protecting and abetting criminals.

The Westword article closes by disparaging the Boulder police:
"The Boulder police haven't managed to arrest anyone for the murder of JonBenét, but they can track down a renegade dog owner -- all while a would-be witness in their town's biggest murder case cowers behind the door."

Lee Hill represented this mentally unstable "witness" (later said to be Nancy Krebs) who claimed that she had been sexually assaulted since childhood by people connected to the murdered Boulder child JonBenet Ramsey:

The Witness...said she was now concerned over the safety of her niece, who she suspected may be suffering the same abuse she had. And she was worried about the case, because now her family would know to destroy or hide evidence. And she was worried about her personal safety. The man she was naming was wealthy and these people, she said, were ruthless. [Westword]

The author of the article, Steve Jackson, writes:

" The Witness claims that she's been the victim of a child-sex ring whose participants included a wealthy friend of the Ramsey family. Yes, that Ramsey family.
If what The Witness has to say is true -- and she does have documentation proving at least her family's connection to the wealthy friend, and she's also sent one man to prison for rape -- then her information may shed some light on the possible circumstances of JonBenét's murder. And that could mean she's in danger. Maybe, Hill worries, he is, too.

For the past few days, the Boulder police have been in California checking the woman's story, though from what Hill can determine, they've mostly been trying to find ways to damage her credibility instead of investigating the possibility that maybe, just maybe, she's telling the truth." [Westword]

Lee Hill claimed that this mystery woman was being hunted by the people who had exploited her, so he hid her with AIM. He also complained that the Boulder police had risked her life by contacting the California police to check this woman's shakey story.

It is odd that Lee Hill is giving media interviews that publicize his client's allegations if he is really trying to protect his client's life:

"She can't go home," Hill yelled [to the Boulder police]. If their leak to the California police was standard procedure, then any stalker in the country could locate his prey by filing a missing-persons report. He was a former law-enforcement officer and he knew that revealing the whereabouts (much less that she was a potential witness in a murder case) of a competent adult who knew where she was didn't wash.

"At considerable risk to herself, she leaves everything and comes forward to try to help you people. Then you needlessly strip her of her only security and tell her pursuers where she is and what she's doing. And all you can give her to shield herself is two fucking business cards. I'll be goddamned if I'm the only one responsible for her safety."

Hunter tried to diffuse the situation, but Hill and The Witness left through the back door. Now Hill was really worried about finding her a safe place to stay. He turned to his friends with the American Indian Movement -- if there was one group of people who weren't afraid of standing up to the government, it was AIM. He called friends, a poor family who didn't have much. Yet without asking any questions about why this woman might be in danger or what risk they might face, they told Hill to bring her over. Suddenly, he felt enormous relief. Leave it to his people to offer what they had to someone in need.

The Witness stayed with them for several days, but Hill knew that they were barely scraping by as it was, so he looked for someplace else to hide her while they waited to hear from the Boulder police.
[Westword]

The woman was determined to be mentally ill. Later, the lawyer Lee Hill was later reportedly arrested a few times by the police. He reportedly assaulted his wife with a gun; he nearly rammed a police car, and he had weapons he was not allowed to have. Hill reportedly jumped bail and didn't show up for his trial. As far as I know, he is still missing.

This is a very complicated story, but I think that this disgusting murder and the cruel, cynical post-murder urban legends were fabricated, like Ward Churchill's Legend of Pine Ridge, to discredit law enforcement.

This murder was mainly terrorist, and the target was the government and the people's confidence in the integrity of their legal institutions.

These lawyer-operatives had a long affiliation with Ward Churchill and AIM, and their actions seemed to be very similar to the political troublemaking, chaos, and distrust that AIM fostered on Pine Ridge. The whole point of that disinformation operation was to depict the FBI as terrorists who protected criminals who murdered Indians.

The fake "witness" Lee Hill represented reminds me a lot of the fake "witness" that AIM promoted after the two FBI agents were murdered at Pine Ridge on the anniversary of "Custer's Last Stand," June 26, 1975. [The Battle of Little Bighorn lasted for two days June 25-26, 1876.]

After Peltier was convicted for aiding and abetting in two murders of the FBI agents, a man called "Mr. X" arranged to meeet a writer named Peter Matthiessen at a secret location. "Mr X" covered his face and claimed to the writer that he (Mr. X) had killed the two FBI agents. This man never confessed to the police and was never interrogated about his claim; he was never questioned in court. The whole point was to make it seem as though an innocent man was wrongly in prison for murder.

Ward Churchill often quotes this book by Matthiessen, In the Spirit of Crazy Horse, as authoritative, and Churchill has claimed, variously, that he was on Pine Ridge the day of the shootings or the day after.

I think that David "Free Speech" Lane and Lee Hill promoted a cynical conspiracy theory after JonBenet Ramsey was murdered to discredit the government.

IEDs Captured at the Mexican Border

Hundreds of thousands of people demonstrated in Chicago on Friday, March 10, 2006 against HR 4437 – The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005.
http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=109_cong_reports&docid=f:hr345p1.109.pdf

HR4437 makes coming to the US illegally a criminal offense, rather than a civil one, calls for a fence on the border, and calls for penalizing anyone who hires and/or helps someone to come or stay here illegally.

Now the Senate will write a bill.

I think that we need to have laws about who comes across our borders, and we need to screen people who are coming into the country so that we keep out criminals and terrorists.

The Republican leadership favors amnesty and guest worker programs, but rank-and-file Republicans reflect public opinion that is increasingly against immigration. http://www.nytimes.com/cfr/international/slot1_022206.html

This year, the Imigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has captured improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and components at the Mexican border.

This is the ICE magazine:
http://www.ice.gov/graphics/news/insideice/articles/InsideICE_030806_Web1.htm
SAN ANTONIO

Assistant Secretary Julie L. Myers announced on February 3 that ICE agents and other officers assigned to the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) in Laredo, Texas, had seized materials for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and large quantities of automatic and semiautomatic weapons, ammunition, narcotics and cash.
On January 27, BEST task force officers from ICE, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Laredo Police Department executed a search warrant at a location in Laredo. The search revealed two completed IEDs and materials for making approximately 33 more IEDs. Agents found 300 primers, 1,280 rounds of ammunition, five grenade shells, nine pipes with end caps, 26 grenade triggers (14 with fuses and primers attached), 31 grenade spoons, 40 grenade pins, 19 black powder casings, as well as 65 firearm magazines, a silencer and other firearms components.

Why We Fight #1: Saddam's WMD Tapes

Updates below:

This is a newsclip about Saddam's chemical, biological, and nuclear WMD. The tapes cover the years between 1992 and 2000, according to Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney, USAF (Ret.).
http://www.intelligencesummit.org/news/TomMcInerney/TM022106.php

At a February conference in Washington, D.C., a tape of Saddam talking about his WMD was shown to participants and to the media.

Saddam even discussed deceiving the UN weapons inspectors and the possibility of using WMD in the US via proxies.
Lieutenant General Thomas McInerney speculates that the Bush Administration doesn't discuss this evidence, even though it would cut the legs off the anti-war movement, because it would embarrass the French, the Russians, and the Chinese who helped Saddam get the materials for his WMD programs.

McInterney speculates that President Bush doesn't explain all of this because he doesn't want to embarrass these countries: he wants their cooperation in the War on Terror.

McInterney says that the Russians "absolutely" moved the WMD out of Iraq.

Here is a link to the conference and the tapes
http://www.intelligencesummit.org/

UPDATE:

According to an article in The Weekly Standard, President Bush has said that he would like the tapes released:

Bush [said] that he wanted the documents released. He turned to Hadley and asked for an update. Hadley explained that John Negroponte, Bush's Director of National Intelligence, "owns the documents" and that DNI lawyers were deciding how they might be handled.
Bush extended his arms in exasperation and worried aloud that people who see the documents in 10 years will wonder why they weren't released sooner. "If
I knew then what I know now," Bush said in the voice of a war skeptic, "I would have been more supportive of the war."

Bush told Hadley to expedite the release of the Iraq documents. "This stuff ought to be out. Put this stuff out." The president would reiterate this point before the meeting adjourned. And as the briefing ended, he approached Pence, poked a finger in the congressman's chest, and thanked him for raising the issue. When Pence began to restate his view that the documents should be released, Bush put his hand up, as if to say, "I hear you. It will be taken care of." http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/011/945usqnx.asp

Snuffing History With "The Big Lie"

Developing...

The academic Mary Berry is a former head of the US Commission on Civil Rights and a former chancellor of the University of Colorado at Boulder. I think that her ideas about civil rights, the FBI, and "genocide" in 20th century America are a lot like Ward Churchill's.

Mary Berry mischaracterized the policies of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society
genocidal” because they helped black women get access to family planning–something that more affluent, white women had. (At this time, "family planning" meant information about contraception, not abortion.)

President Johnson did so much to try to get justice and better opportunities for black people. The Great Society was not a “campaign of genocide.” [Washington Monthly; 10/1/1987; Glastris, Paul]

Women can’t escape poverty if they don’t have access to family planning. To characterize what was happening to blacks in the 1960s as “the threat of genocide” is really crazy.

Here is what Berry and John Blassingame wrote in their 1982 book, Long Memory: The Black Experience in America:

“Although most historians have dismissed the claims of Afro-Americans that the United States had inaugurated a campaign of genocide against black people in the 1960s as unfounded, hysterical charges, the threat of genocide was real. It was roughly comparable to the threat faced by Jews in the 1930s.” [Washington Monthly; 10/1/1987; Glastris, Paul]
Berry even celebrated Stalin’s Soviet Union and Mao’s China. In my opinion,"civil rights activist” Berry was an ideological opponent of the US and an apologist for two of the biggest mass-murderers in the 20th Century. Tens of millions of people died of starvation or were murdered in Stalin's USSR. Mao is responsible for the deaths of 70 million Chinese people in peacetime.

Berry praised the partisan indoctrination of the education system in communist China. She said that Chinese college students “must develop what they call socialist consciousness and culture," and that this was was no cause for criticism. “It would be both cheap and easy for us here in America to denounce that approach.” [Washington Monthly; 10/1/1987; Glastris, Paul]

It is not called “civil rights” when a student has to “develop socialist culture and consciousness” as a condition of an education. This is called a totalitarian one-party dictatorship.

Barry said that black Americans didn’t embrace communism during the depression only because they were “subjected to a massive barrage of propaganda from American news media, [so] few of them knew about Russia’s constitutional safeguards for minorities, the extent of equal opportunity, or the equal provision of social services to its citizens.” [Washington Monthly; 10/1/1987; Glastris, Paul]

Tens of millions of ordinary Soviet citizens were being shot, starved, worked to death, and frozen. There were no constitutional safeguards or provision of social services for them. There was no free speech to criticize the mass murder of millions. Communists allow free speech only for themselves. Everyone else goes to prison for slander.

In the USSR this was Article 70 of the Constitution: Anti-Soviet Agitation and Propaganda (ie telling the truth).

That Berry did not care two-hoots about real educational success for minority students is shown by this example:

“The folks at the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she was chancellor [1976—?], know what can happen when Berry is put at the helm of a large organization. In 1977 English professors had decided that minority students should not receive credit for summer courses given by the Educational Opportunities Program (EOP) because the classes were “remedial.”The faculty argued that “high-risk” minority students, though helped by the courses, were still entering fall classes seriously deficient in language skills.

Minority students and EOP officials protested. Berry and the English department reached a compromise under which the students would receive credit for the summer courses but would also have to take freshman English. Simple enough, until 25 minority students barricaded themselves in the dean’s office. Berry, who had already left for Washington, came back to campus to negotiate. (She had told the university the federal job would last only a year and the U.S. Senate that she expected to stay in Washington indefinitely. Angry officials in Washington and Colorado were just discovering the conflicting statements when Berry flew back to Boulder to defuse the crisis.) Outside, according to the Denver Post, minority students led a rally to support the “struggling masses’ inside, calling the course compromise “racist’ and demanding “destruction of the capitalist system which the University of Colorado represents.’
After meeting with the students, Berry announced a new policy: if the students would be nice enough to leave the building without tearing it apart, the university would grant all their demands–no freshman English requirements; EOP, not the English department, gets control of the classes; amnesty for the protesters. English professors were beside themselves with anger and drew up a petition demanding that she be censured. But Berry was already back in Washington, leaving the university to clean up the mess. ” [Washington Monthly; 10/1/1987; Glastris, Paul]

Interestingly enough, Ward Churchill , who called the 9-11 victims “little Eichmans” and their murderers “heroes” moved to Boulder in 1976, too, and began working in the Boulder school system’s Indian EOP program and also got a job at CU in 1978.
http://www.pirateballerina.com/files/chronology.htm

This EOP (Equal Opportunity Program) did not give the kids equal opportunities. The kids got to take a remedial English course and count it as Freshman English. This really kept the minority students ignorant.

So the minority children did NOT get equal rights because of this EOP program. The EOP was really being used to undermine the English department requirements and the students’ right to an equal education.

The EOP used the students and the threat of violence and property destruction to get power. The destruction of public property and the destruction of the English department requirements to the EOP is not civil rights. It is thuggish intimidation.

In 1999 Mary Berry, then the Chairman of the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, became involved in the controversy about the so-called uninvestigated deaths at Pine Ridge:

"In response to criticism from the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, the FBI released a report Monday it says reconciles 57 unresolved deaths of American Indians on or near the Pine Ridge Reservation during the early 1970s.
Members of the American Indian Movement and other reservation residents for decades have accused the FBI of covering up or ignoring dozens of slayings during the '70s.

But the FBI says only six of the 57 deaths it studied are unsolved. The vast majority have been cleared by arrests or were never crimes, according to the report.
"The FBI got a definitive list of people who were supposedly murdered on Pine Ridge. We took that, and tried to put out the truth," said Chip Burrus, FBI assistant special agent in charge of Indian Country.

The chairwoman of the Civil Rights Commission, who has lambasted the FBI for its apparent nonchalant attitude toward the deaths, said Monday the report might not be enough to appease distrustful reservation residents."

"We have no way of knowing about the accuracy of the reporting, but I'm pleased that that the FBI is attempting to be responsive by accounting for these cold cases," said Chairwoman Mary Francis Berry, who suggested that congressional hearings or a grand jury might be the solution.

"Such an inquiry may inspire greater confidence (in the FBI), by the Native American people."
The American Indian Movement blames the FBI for not conducting a thorough investigation into each of the cases, which the movement considers AIM casualties.
During December 1999 hearings before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights in Rapid City, Berry and other commission members chastised senior FBI officials for a lack of accountability in the deaths.

Monday, the FBI responded.
In a Justice Department document titled: Accounting for Native American Deaths, Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota: A report of the FBI Minneapolis Division, the bureau dissects each of the 57 deaths its says it came from media outlets. The document provides the victim's name, allegations surrounding the deaths and the agent's findings.

"We can't do our job without the trust of the people of Pine Ridge," Burrus said. "This booklet tells the truth."

I think that this whole dishonest business of claiming that the FBI was complicit in murders and not investigating them was the result of false rumors spread by AIM and by Ward Churchill's constantly morphing claims about FBI-backed death squads murdering AIM activists. Mary Berry thinks that China and the Soviet Union have civil rights and that America was trying to commit genocide in the 1960s. I don't believe anything Mary Berry says about the FBI. She is a dishonest scholar and an operative for propagandists, not a human rights activist.

Ward Churchill wrote his claims that 342 Indians had been murdered in the Soviet-influenced Covert Action Information Bulletin. The purpose of this publication was to smear the CIA and FBI. http://legendofpineridge.blogspot.com/2006/02/342-indians.html

To smear the FBI, AIM and Churchill spread false rumors about the deaths of people that even their relatives knew were untrue:

"Joseph Swift Bird lost his brother in January 1975. AIM says Leon Swift Bird was killed by members of the Guardians of the Oglala Nation, an armed force working under tribal auspices.

Joseph, now 79, heard the rumors but always knew the truth.

No one bothered to ask, he said. Leon was stabbed by his girlfriend.

"They were both drinking, argued a bit, and she put the knife to him," he said, adding he hopes the report will stop the rumors about his family." http://ishgooda.org/peltier/tuesdayarticle2.htm

Here is a quote from a good article in an Indian publication about how AIM squelched Indian voices and how the FBI tried to give them a voice.

For many years the American Indian Movement and the Leonard Peltier Defense Committee made a list of 64 names public with explanations that no investigation was conducted or that investigations into the deaths were insufficient. On July 10, the FBI fought back and issued a 30-page booklet that briefly explains cases in question. It does address the eight deaths that occurred along Rapid Creek in Rapid City within the last several years. "The publication is part of our attempt to correct the many, many myths circulating on the Internet and on the reservations," said Chip Burrus, assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Minneapolis division. "For many years, rumors of unresolved murders of Native Americans have come to our attention," wrote Douglas J. Domin, special agent in charge of the Minneapolis Division in the forward of the booklet. "At times, these allegations represented that there were hundreds of murdered Native Americans that had not been investigated by the FBI. The names of murder victims were not attached to the rumors and addressing the allegations could not be accomplished," Domin stated. Burrus intended to release the booklet to tribal elders at Pine Ridge, but when he started in Kyle he began handing them out in parking lots as well. He dropped the report at 18 different locations on the reservation. He said the FBI could not do its job if tribal members do not trust the work done by the FBI. "I hope the document will stop the idea that the FBI lets murders go uninvestigated," Burrus said. "I was really surprised. Our reception was favorable. Some people we gave the book to said we should take it down to the Red Cloud Building. We did not get a negative response there and they said they would pass it along to the elders."
http://www.indiancountry.com/content.cfm?id=747

I think Ward Churchill and AIM just made up a big communist lies about these deaths to smear the FBI. To smear the FBI he has to shut-up Indian voices. As noted in an earlier post, I think he plagiarized his big lie about the "reign of terror" on Pine Ridge from the FBI file on the Osage Indian Murders. http://legendofpineridge.blogspot.com/2006/02/osage-indian-murders-and-legend-of.html

The Osage Indian murders were also called a "reign of terror."
I think that Churchill even copied that term from the Osage history. However, to solve the Osage murders, the FBI and the Indians worked together to catch the criminals who were killing Indians and some white people, too. Ward Churchill couldn't stand for anyone to know that the FBI got justice for the Osage, so he made up his Legend of Pine Ridge to cover-up the Osage-FBI record of cooperation. He cannibalized Osage-FBI history and snuffed out the true history of the events at Pine Ridge with his fabrications.

Ward Churchill wants the Indians to distrust the FBI. If the Indians distrust the FBI and don't cooperate with the authorities, the authorities can't do a good job of protecting people. I think that suits Ward Churchill just fine. He is a despicable person who doesn't really care about Indian rights at all. In fact, the worse things are for Indians, the better it is for Churchill's anti-FBI propaganda.

What Ward Churchill cares about is trashing the FBI in the eyes of the American people.

I am not saying that the FBI is perfect or that they never make mistakes, but Churchill's propaganda is dishonest and destructive of human rights for all Americans.

Soon I will write about how lawyer-operatives with ties to Ward Churchill spread the lie that the government was protecting a ring of powerful pedophiles who had murdered Jonbenet Ramsey in Boulder Colorado. This was virtually the same lie that Churchill told the people on Pine Ridge---that the government was protecting death squads who had murdered Indians who were AIM activists.

Squirm little Wardo, squirm!

The Plagiarized Ransom Note

Developing...

On the night of December 25-26, 1996, the life of a six-year old child, JonBenet Ramsey, was snuffed out. JonBenet was strangled and bludgeoned to death in the basement of her Boulder, Colorado home. The perverted killer/s tortured this child and defiled her body by stuffing a broken paintbrush into her vagina.

The vicious killers threatened to behead JonBenet if their demands were not met.

Although most people focus on the significance of the Christmas date, Jonbenet probably died on December 26, Mao's birthday. It is possible that this was a date that was important to the killer.

The author of the JonBenet ransom note seems to have plagiarized portions of some of the letters from the Lindbergh baby kidnapping.

In some of those letters, the killer specified the denominations of the bills.

The JonBenet ransom note also instructed JonBenet's father, John Ramsey, about how many bills of each denomination to put in a paper bag.It seems that the person who "snuffed" little JonBenet writes plagiaristic ransom notes.

The Ramsey note reads:

"You will withdraw $118,000.00 from your account. $100,000 will be in $100 bills and the remaining $18,000 in $20 bills. Make sure that you bring an adequate size attache to the bank. When you get home you will put the money in a brown paper bag." http://www.statementanalysis.com/ramseynote/

The Lindbergh kidnapper wrote a series of ransom notes, each with a larger ransom demand. Several of the notes specify the number and denomination of the bills:

"Have 50,000$ redy 2500$ in 20$ bills 1 5000$ in 10$ bills and 10000$ in 5$ bills."

"So the amount will be 70000 20000 in 50$ bills 25000 $ in 20$ bill 15000 $ in 10$ bills and 10000 in 5$ bills..."

"Ouer ransom was made out for 50000$ but now we have to put another to it as propperly have to hold the baby longer as we expected so it will be 70000$ 20000 in 50$ bills 25000 in 25$ 12000$ in 10$ bills and 10000 in 5$ bills."
http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/Hauptmann/Ransom.htm
The author of the JonBenet ransom note claims to be familiar with police technology:

"You will be scanned for electronic devices and if any are found, she dies. You can try to deceive us but be warned that we are familiar with Law enforcement countermeasures and tactics."

One of the Lindberg baby kidnapping notes states:

"If there is a ratio alarm for policecar, we warn you, we have the same eqipnent."

All of the above is Snapple's opinion!

Iraqi Kids: Stuffed and Snuffed

Professor Ward Churchill and his sockpuppets at www.tryworks.blogspot.com often accuse the Americans of murdering Iraqi children. Maybe they should read this letter from an Iraqi mayor about how the terrorists were butchering the men, women, and children in his town.

The Mayor of Tall ‘Afar, Iraq, wrote a letter to the men and women of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment and their families that was published in an Iraqi newspaper.

According to the mayor, the terrorists stuffed the corpses of Iraqi children with explosives and threw them into the street in order to kill the parents who tried to retrieve their children's bodies.

In the Name of God the Compassionate and Merciful
To the Courageous Men and Women of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, who have changed the city of Tall’ Afar from a ghost town, in which terrorists spread death and destruction, to a secure city flourishing with life.
To the lion-hearts who liberated our city from the grasp of terrorists who were beheading men, women and children in the streets for many months.
To those who spread smiles on the faces of our children, and gave us restored hope, through their personal sacrifice and brave fighting, and gave new life to the city after hopelessness darkened our days, and stole our confidence in our ability to reestablish our city.
Our city was the main base of operations for Abu Mousab Al Zarqawi. The city was completely held hostage in the hands of his henchmen. Our schools, governmental services, businesses and offices were closed. Our streets were silent, and no one dared to walk them. Our people were barricaded in their homes out of fear; death awaited them around every corner. Terrorists occupied and controlled the only hospital in the city. Their savagery reached such a level that they stuffed the corpses of children with explosives and tossed them into the streets in order to kill grieving parents attempting to retrieve the bodies of their young. This was the situation of our city until God prepared and delivered unto them the courageous soldiers of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment, who liberated this city, ridding it of Zarqawi’s followers after harsh fighting, killing many terrorists, and forcing the remaining butchers to flee the city like rats to the surrounding areas, where the bravery of other 3d ACR soldiers in Sinjar, Rabiah, Zumar and Avgani finally destroyed them.
I have met many soldiers of the 3d Armored Cavalry Regiment; they are not only courageous men and women, but avenging angels sent by The God Himself to fight the evil of terrorism.
The leaders of this Regiment; COL McMaster, COL Armstrong, LTC Hickey, LTC Gibson, and LTC Reilly embody courage, strength, vision and wisdom. Officers and soldiers alike bristle with the confidence and character of knights in a bygone era. The mission they have accomplished, by means of a unique military operation, stands among the finest military feats to date in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and truly deserves to be studied in military science. This military operation was clean, with little collateral damage, despite the ferocity of the enemy. With the skill and precision of surgeons they dealt with the terrorist cancers in the city without causing unnecessary damage.
God bless this brave Regiment; God bless the families who dedicated these brave men and women. From the bottom of our hearts we thank the families. They have given us something we will never forget. To the families of those who have given their holy blood for our land, we all bow to you in reverence and to the souls of your loved ones. Their sacrifice was not in vain. They are not dead, but alive, and their souls hovering around us every second of every minute. They will never be forgotten for giving their precious lives. They have sacrificed that which is most valuable. We see them in the smile of every child, and in every flower growing in this land. Let America, their families, and the world be proud of their sacrifice for humanity and life.
Finally, no matter how much I write or speak about this brave Regiment, I haven’t the words to describe the courage of its officers and soldiers. I pray to God to grant happiness and health to these legendary heroes and their brave families.
NAJIM ABDULLAH ABID AL-JIBOURIMayor of Tall ‘Afar, Ninewa, Iraq
